The Yarra Valley Parklands is a massive, 27km-long chain of parks that protects the Yarra River corridor from the outer suburbs into the city. It encompasses numerous individual parks, including Westerfolds Park, Candlebark Park, and Templestowe Lower Park. The unifying feature is the Main Yarra Trail, a hugely popular shared path for cyclists and walkers that runs the entire length of the parklands. The parks offer a diverse range of experiences, from manicured picnic areas to natural bushland and billabongs. They are exceptionally well-serviced with picnic and barbecue facilities, playgrounds, and canoe launches. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
