The Yarra Ranges National Park protects a huge expanse of magnificent Mountain Ash forest, the tallest flowering forest in the world. Much of the park is a protected water catchment area and is inaccessible to the public. However, several key areas provide outstanding visitor experiences. These include the drive through the breathtaking Black Spur forest, the summit of Mount Donna Buang with its lookout tower and winter snow play, and the Rainforest Gallery, an elevated walkway through a beautiful cool temperate rainforest. The park offers stunning scenery and a true mountain experience. As a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
