215-235 Recreation Rd, Yan Yean, VIC 3755
Yan Yean Reservoir Park is a place of great historical significance, as the source of Melbourne's first major water supply, completed in 1857. The park retains a stately, 19th-century character with its magnificent collection of mature exotic trees and vast, rolling lawns. It's a very popular destination for picnics and family gatherings, with excellent facilities including numerous barbecues, shelters, and playgrounds. A network of walking tracks allows visitors to explore the beautiful gardens and enjoy views across the reservoir. The park is also a fantastic spot for birdwatching. To protect the water supply, dogs are not permitted. The park gates open and close at set times. Entry is free.
