Wyperfeld National Park is a magnificent expanse of Mallee country, offering a true outback experience. The park is characterized by its vast plains of Mallee eucalypts, rolling sand dunes, and a unique chain of lakes that only fill when the Wimmera River floods, a rare event. The park is a fantastic destination for remote camping, birdwatching, and 4WD touring. The more accessible northern section has a nature drive and several walking tracks, including the popular Tyakil Nature Walk. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife adapted to the arid conditions. Visitors must be well-prepared and self-sufficient. As a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free, but camping fees apply.
