Daylesford, Goldfields, VIC
Central Springs Rd, Daylesford, VIC 3460
The Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens are a key feature of Daylesford, set on the summit of an old volcano. The gardens, established in 1863, are renowned for their magnificent collection of mature trees, which create a tranquil and shady canopy. A scenic drive and network of paths wind through the gardens. A highlight is the Pioneers Memorial Tower at the summit, which visitors can climb for spectacular 360-degree views of Daylesford and the surrounding countryside. The gardens are also home to the popular Wombat Hill House cafe, set in the former curator's cottage. It's a beautiful and peaceful spot for a walk or picnic. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
