Whipstick State Park
Neilborough, Bendigo, VIC
Bendigo-Pyramid Rd, Neilborough, VIC 3571
Now officially part of the Greater Bendigo National Park, the 'Whipstick' section is a distinct and fascinating area. It is named after the 'Whipstick Mallee' eucalypt that dominates the landscape, creating a dense, low forest. This unique habitat is a hotspot for biodiversity and is renowned for its breathtaking wildflower displays in spring, particularly its incredible diversity of native orchids. The park is also rich in gold mining history, with old mines like the Old Tom Mine visible. A network of tracks allows for scenic driving, walking, and prospecting. As part of a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
