Myers Rd, Pentland Hills, VIC 3341
Werribee Gorge State Park is a fantastic destination for experienced hikers seeking a challenge. The park's main feature is the 10km Circuit Walk, which takes visitors down into the 200-metre deep gorge, along the Werribee River, and back up to the clifftops. The walk is famous for its cable section, where hikers must use a steel rope to traverse a rock face above the river. The park is of significant geological interest, with rock layers that are hundreds of millions of years old. Two main picnic areas, Meikles Point and Quarry, provide facilities and easier access to the river. The park is also popular for rock climbing. Dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
