Valley Lake

Although the city of Mount Gambier is in South Australia, the Valley Lake crater is a key feature of the cross-border Kanawinka Geopark, which spans both states. The Valley Lake is one of several volcanic craters in the area and provides a beautiful recreational space. The foreshore has extensive lawns, picnic and barbecue facilities, and walking trails that offer stunning views of the crater. A key attraction is the large adventure playground and the free wildlife park, where visitors can see kangaroos, koalas, and other native animals. It's a fantastic and diverse park for a family outing. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
