Twelve Apostles
Princetown, Great Ocean Road, VIC
Great Ocean Rd, Princetown, VIC 3269
The Twelve Apostles is Australia's most famous coastal landmark and the highlight of the Port Campbell National Park. These massive limestone pillars were once part of the mainland cliffs, carved out over millions of years by the relentless action of the ocean. A purpose-built visitor centre, connected to the viewing platforms by a tunnel under the Great Ocean Road, provides information and facilities. An extensive network of boardwalks and lookouts offers spectacular, safe viewing opportunities. The scene is particularly breathtaking at sunrise and sunset when the stacks are bathed in golden light. As part of a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
