The Paps Scenic Reserve protects two small, almost perfectly conical hills that are distinctive landmarks in the landscape near Mansfield. A walking track leads from a small car park to the summit of the northern pap. The climb is short but very steep, but the reward is a breathtaking 360-degree view of the surrounding high country, including Mount Buller and the Great Dividing Range. The reserve has no facilities and is a simple but rewarding nature-based experience for those seeking a great view. Dogs are permitted on-leash. Entry is free.
