The Nut State Reserve is a prominent geological feature in Stanley, Tasmania, rising 143 meters above the town. This ancient volcanic plug offers breathtaking views of Bass Strait and the surrounding landscape. Visitors can reach the summit via a steep walking track or a chairlift, with a 2.7 km circuit track around the plateau providing moderate walking opportunities. The reserve is home to diverse wildlife, including short-tailed shearwaters, peregrine falcons, Australian kestrels, and little penguins. It also protects significant Tasmanian Aboriginal and historic sites, including middens, quarries, and artefact scatters. The area is accessible via The Esplanade, with parking facilities available. Picnic tables and electric barbecues are located at Kings Park, Godfrey's Beach, adjacent to the historic cemetery.
