Sunbury Earth Rings
Sunbury, Melbourne, VIC
260-280 Harker St, Sunbury, VIC 3429
The Sunbury Earth Rings are a site of immense cultural importance to the Wurundjeri people. Located in a quiet reserve, these two circular earthworks are rare and important examples of pre-European Aboriginal ceremonial sites in southern Australia. The rings are believed to have been used for gatherings, ceremonies, and trade. Interpretive signage at the site explains the history and significance of the earth rings. A walking path connects the two rings and allows for quiet reflection. It is a protected Aboriginal place, and visitors are asked to treat it with respect. Dogs should be kept on a leash. Entry is free.
