St Kilda Beach
St Kilda, Melbourne, VIC
Jacka Blvd, St Kilda VIC 3182
St Kilda Beach offers several off-leash areas for dogs. West Beach allows dogs off-leash all day, every day year-round and is the most popular option with friendly local dog-owner community and gentle waters. Beach G, between Brooks Jetty and the northern end of the car park towards St Kilda Marina, permits off-leash dogs at all times of the year. From April 1 to October 31, dogs are generally allowed off-leash on all St Kilda beaches except the sensitive dune area between Pier Road and West Beach Pavilion (prohibited year-round). From November 1 to March 31, more restrictions apply and dogs are prohibited on certain stretches—check signage. Facilities include waste bins, water refill stations along Bay Trail, nearby West Beach Pavilion with toilets and dog-friendly café. Paid parking nearby, limited during peak times. Shade is limited. Popular for dogs who enjoy socialising. Always check Port Phillip Council signage for latest regulations.
