Southwest National Park

Southwest National Park, located in Tasmania's south-west, is a vast wilderness area renowned for its rugged mountains, dense rainforests, and pristine waterways. As part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, it offers unparalleled natural beauty and biodiversity. The park is accessible via Cockle Creek, approximately a two-hour drive south of Hobart. Visitors can enjoy various activities, including bushwalking, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, and bird-watching. The park features several campgrounds, such as Boltons Green, which offer basic facilities like pit toilets and picnic tables. Dogs are permitted on leads within the Recherche Bay Nature Recreation Area but are not allowed within the national park. Fires are prohibited; only fuel stoves are permitted.
