Serendip Sanctuary

Serendip Sanctuary is a premier destination for wildlife viewing, particularly for birds. Located in the You Yangs Regional Park, the sanctuary's extensive wetlands are a haven for a huge variety of waterbirds, including magpie geese and brolgas. A series of easy, accessible walking tracks lead visitors through different habitats and past several bird hides. The grassy woodlands are home to free-ranging kangaroos, wallabies, and emus, allowing for wonderful close-up encounters. The sanctuary has excellent picnic and barbecue facilities. To protect the wildlife, no pets are allowed. The sanctuary gates open and close at set times. Entry is free.
