Royal Park

Royal Park is a massive 181-hectare park that provides a vital 'green lung' for the city. The park is a mix of open grasslands, sports fields, and significant areas of remnant native woodland and wetlands. It is home to the Melbourne Zoo (paid entry) and the Royal Children's Hospital. A major attraction is the award-winning Royal Park Nature Playground, a huge adventure space designed to connect children with nature. The park has an extensive network of walking and cycling paths and is very popular for sport and recreation. It has large designated off-leash areas for dogs. Entry to the park is free. Parking is mostly paid.
