Rose Bay Beach

Rose Bay, Sydney, NSW

End of Caledonian Rd, Rose Bay NSW 2029

Rose Bay Dog Beach is Sydney's most prominent official off-leash beach for dogs in the Eastern Suburbs. Located on the southern shore of Sydney Harbour between Percival Park and Dumaresq Reserve, the sandy stretch is a 24/7 off-leash zone with no time restrictions. Dogs can run, swim, and play freely any time of day or night. The water is calm and shallow, making it ideal for swimming and safe for dogs of all sizes. The beach is at its largest during low tide. Access is via the end of Caledonian Road or steps from New South Head Road near numbers 760-762. Facilities include water taps, waste bins, and nearby dog-friendly cafés like Sugar & Spoon. Parking is limited on nearby streets with carparks at Dover Road, Ian Street, and Wilberforce Avenue—arrive early on weekends. Widely considered Sydney's best off-leash dog beach.
