Savage River National Park is a remote and pristine wilderness area located in Tasmania's northwest. It is one of the few remaining temperate rainforests in Australia, offering a refuge for primitive flora and undisturbed rivers. The park is characterized by deep ravines, river gorges, steep mountain ranges, blanket bog peat soils, and isolated buttongrass moorlands. Due to its inaccessibility, the park remains largely untouched, preserving its unique ecosystems. Access to the park is limited, with entry typically requiring a 4WD vehicle. There are no visitor facilities within the park, and it is recommended for experienced wilderness explorers. A valid parks pass is required for entry to Tasmania's national parks. (parks.tas.gov.au)
