Quoin Head is a distinctive headland located within Fitzgerald River National Park, approximately 100 kilometers east of Esperance, Western Australia. The headland is renowned for its unique wedge-shaped formation, resembling a 'quoin'—a wedge used to raise a ship’s cannon or to keep it from rolling on the deck. This geological feature, combined with the surrounding rugged cliffs and pristine beaches, makes Quoin Head a favored spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts.

The area is also notable for its rich biodiversity. Ospreys frequently nest on the headlands, and visitors often observe these birds engaging in aerial displays, sometimes interacting with kestrels and Australian hobbies. The park's diverse ecosystems support a variety of plant and animal species, contributing to its ecological significance.

Access to Quoin Head is via a rough track suitable only for high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles. Alternatively, visitors can embark on the Hakea Trail, a full-day return hike from Hamersley Inlet, or as part of an overnight hike of the Hakea Trail. The nearest two-wheel-drive access point on the Hakea Trail is Hamersley Inlet. The trail offers scenic views and an opportunity to experience the park's diverse landscapes up close.

Please note that Quoin Head is a remote and rugged area. Visitors should exercise caution, especially near coastal cliffs, and ensure they are well-prepared for the conditions. The park is part of the Western Shield program, which involves 1080 baiting to reduce the impacts of feral cats and foxes on native wildlife. As a result, pets are not permitted in this park.
