Pound Bend Reserve
Warrandyte, Melbourne, VIC
Pound Bend Rd, Warrandyte, VIC 3113
Pound Bend Reserve is a key feature of the Warrandyte State Park. The reserve is set on a beautiful, tranquil stretch of the Yarra River. Its most notable feature is the Pound Bend Tunnel, a historic gold mining diversion tunnel that was blasted through the hillside in 1870. The large, calm pool below the tunnel outlet is a very popular swimming spot in summer. The reserve has extensive lawns, shady picnic areas with wood barbecues, and is a starting point for several walking tracks, including the Pound Bend River Walk. Dogs are permitted on-leash. Entry is free.
