Established in 1858, the Portland Botanic Gardens are a historic treasure. The gardens are home to an outstanding collection of mature trees, including many rare and significant species. Key features include the beautiful bluestone curator's cottage, a dahlia collection, and a unique garden that displays common weeds in a formal setting for educational purposes. The gardens provide a beautiful and peaceful environment for a walk or picnic. There is a playground for children and barbecue facilities are available. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
