Plenty Gorge Parklands

Plenty Gorge Parklands protects a surprisingly wild and rugged landscape right on the urban fringe. The park's main feature is the steep-sided gorge of the Plenty River, which provides a dramatic and scenic backdrop for recreation. The park offers a range of experiences, from the easily accessible picnic areas at Hawkstowe and Yellow Gum Park to more challenging and remote bushwalking trails. The Blue Lake, a former quarry, is a popular spot for its striking colour. The park is a haven for native wildlife, including large mobs of kangaroos. To protect the wildlife, dogs are not permitted in many areas of the park. Entry is free.
