Murray-Sunset National Park
Pink Lakes, Loddon Mallee, VIC
Pink Lakes Rd, Linga, VIC 3490
Victoria's second-largest national park, Murray-Sunset offers a stunning semi-arid landscape. The park is most famous for the Pink Lakes, a series of salt lakes that get their brilliant pink hue from a type of algae, especially in late summer. The park also features vast plains of Mallee eucalypts and impressive sand dunes, including the 'Big Drift'. It's a premier destination for remote 4WD touring and camping. The Pink Lakes area is the most accessible, with campgrounds and basic facilities. The rest of the park requires a high-clearance 4WD and for visitors to be completely self-sufficient. As a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free, but camping fees apply.
