Mount Major Regional Park

Mount Major, known locally as 'Big Hill', is a prominent landmark near Shepparton. The regional park protects the native vegetation on the hill's slopes, primarily Grey Box and Yellow Box woodlands. The main activity is the walk to the summit. While not long, the track is steep in sections, but the reward is a spectacular, uninterrupted view across the flat irrigated plains of the Goulburn Valley. The summit is also the site of several communication towers. There are no visitor facilities other than the car park and the walking track. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
