  • Mount Dial Summit Track:
    • Route 1: Starting at Mount Montgomery Carpark, this 8.2 km return walk (Grade 3) follows the Myrtle Creek Track to Mount Montgomery, then continues along the ridgeline to Mount Dial. Estimated time: 4-5 hours.
    • Route 2: Beginning at Ferndene State Reserve, this 7.5 km return walk (Grade 4) meanders along contours with a gentle incline for the first 2 km, becoming steeper near the summit. Estimated time: 4-5 hours.
    • Route 3: Starting at Gnomon Carpark, this 4.2 km return walk (Grade 3) follows the track to Mount Gnomon Lookout, then continues to Mount Dial. Estimated time: 2 hours.

Mountain Biking:

The Mount Dial Nature Recreation Area features a network of mountain biking trails, including a challenging 22 km loop around former forestry tracks, with options to extend rides up to 40 km. Riders should be aware of shared-use tracks and exercise caution.

Facilities:

While the recreation area offers picnic tables and shade, there are no barbecue facilities or playgrounds. Parking is available at various trailheads, including Mount Montgomery Carpark, Ferndene State Reserve, and Gnomon Carpark. Dogs, horses, and motorbikes are not permitted within the reserve.
