Mount Beauty Foreshore

The Mount Beauty Foreshore, often known locally as Pondage, is the town's primary recreational parkland. It is set along the banks of the Kiewa River and a large pondage that is part of the local hydro-electric scheme. The reserve features beautiful, grassy lawns shaded by mature trees, making it perfect for picnics. A walking and cycling path follows the river, and the shallow pebble beaches are popular for swimming and paddling in summer. The park has excellent facilities, including a playground, barbecues, and public toilets. It's a stunning spot to relax and enjoy the magnificent alpine scenery. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
