Merri Creek Parklands
Coburg, Melbourne, VIC
Coburg, VIC 3058
The Merri Creek Parklands is a continuous chain of open space that has been the focus of one of Melbourne's most successful community revegetation projects, transforming a once-neglected waterway into a thriving habitat corridor. The central feature is the Merri Creek Trail, a shared path for cyclists and walkers that runs for over 20km. The trail connects numerous important sites, including the CERES Community Environment Park, Coburg Lake Reserve, and the confluence with the Yarra River. Along its length are many playgrounds, picnic spots, and designated off-leash dog areas. It's a fantastic natural and recreational asset for the northern suburbs.
