The Malmsbury Botanic Gardens are one of Victoria's earliest regional botanic gardens, established in the 1860s. These heritage-listed gardens are renowned for their magnificent collection of mature exotic trees and a beautifully ornate bluestone fountain. The gardens have a fairy-tale quality, with the massive Malmsbury Railway Viaduct providing a dramatic backdrop. A lovely ornamental lake is home to ducks and other birdlife. The gardens are a perfect spot for a picnic, with a playground and barbecue facilities available. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
