Macedon Regional Park protects the forests and gardens on the slopes of Mount Macedon. The park's summit is home to the striking 21-metre high Memorial Cross, a tribute to Australia's war dead, which offers some of the most spectacular views in Victoria, stretching to the Melbourne skyline. The park is particularly famous for the 'Honour Avenue' of oak trees, which becomes a breathtaking spectacle of autumn colour and draws huge crowds. A network of walking tracks connects the summit with other attractions like the Camels Hump lookout and Sanatorium Lake. The park has several beautiful picnic areas. Dogs are permitted on-leash. Entry is free.
