Port Campbell, Great Ocean Road, VIC
Great Ocean Rd, Port Campbell, VIC 3269
Loch Ard Gorge is one of the most popular and spectacular stops along the Great Ocean Road. The gorge is named after the clipper ship 'Loch Ard', which tragically sank here in 1878 with only two survivors. A network of walking tracks leads to several stunning lookouts, including views of the two rock pillars named after the survivors, Tom and Eva. A staircase leads down to the beautiful, sheltered beach within the gorge itself. The area also includes other features like the Thunder Cave and the Razorback rock formation. As part of a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
