Little Desert National Park
Dimboola, Grampians, VIC
Horsham-Dimboola Rd, Dimboola, VIC 3414
Despite its name, the Little Desert National Park is not a true desert but a diverse semi-arid landscape. The park is famous for its low-lying vegetation that erupts into a sea of colour during the spring wildflower season. It's a premier destination for birdwatching, with over 200 species recorded, including the elusive Malleefowl. The park is divided into three blocks, with access ranging from 2WD-accessible picnic areas and campgrounds in the eastern block to remote 4WD tracks in the west. It offers fantastic opportunities for bushwalking, camping, and nature photography. Dogs are not permitted in the national park. Entry is free, but camping fees apply.
