Leven Canyon Regional Reserve, located approximately 45 minutes' drive from Ulverstone in Tasmania's northwest, is renowned for its breathtaking canyon views and accessible walking tracks. The reserve features a 1.2 km circuit track that leads visitors to two main lookouts: Cruickshanks and Edge. Cruickshanks Lookout, situated 275 meters above the Leven River, offers expansive panoramic views of the canyon and surrounding forested landscapes. The track is classified as Grade 3, indicating that some bushwalking experience is recommended due to short steep hill sections, rough surfaces, and numerous steps. Along the trail, visitors can enjoy the lush ferny environment and may encounter colorful fungi and local wildlife. The walking tracks remain open during the picnic area upgrades, ensuring continued access to the natural beauty of the reserve. The reserve provides picnic tables and barbecue facilities, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and enjoying the scenic surroundings. Dogs are not permitted off-leash in the reserve, ensuring the safety and preservation of the natural habitat.
