Lakeside Sanctuary Zone is a designated marine area within Ningaloo Marine Park, renowned for its rich biodiversity and exceptional snorkeling opportunities. Visitors can explore large coral bombies that shelter an abundance of marine life, including anemones, rays, sharks, and turtles. To access the snorkeling area, walk 500 meters south along the beach to the Lakeside Sanctuary marker, then proceed past the shore sanctuary marker (yellow posts) to the two in-water sanctuary markers (yellow buoys). Snorkel between the beach and these buoys. As a sanctuary zone, all marine life is protected, and activities such as fishing and collecting are prohibited. Facilities include a picnic table and parking area. Pets are not permitted due to ongoing 1080 baiting programs aimed at reducing the impact of feral animals on native wildlife.
