Lake Eildon National Park protects the steep, wooded hills surrounding the enormous Lake Eildon. With over 500km of shoreline, the park is a paradise for water-based recreation, including water skiing, fishing, and exploring by houseboat. On land, the park offers a range of experiences, from well-equipped campgrounds and picnic areas in the Fraser Block to more remote hiking and camping opportunities in the southern sections. A network of walking tracks leads to lookouts with spectacular views over the lake and its many intricate arms. The park is also home to abundant wildlife, including kangaroos and wombats. Dogs are not permitted in the national park. Entry is free, but camping and boating fees apply.
