Kurth Kiln Regional Park
Gembrook, Melbourne, VIC
405 Beenak Rd, Gembrook, VIC 3783
Kurth Kiln Regional Park protects a large area of native forest and is centred around a remarkable historic landmark: a massive charcoal kiln built during World War II. The kiln and its associated ruins provide a fascinating glimpse into the past. The park is a popular destination for recreation, with a network of walking tracks that wind through tall eucalypt forests and along creeks. The Tomahawk Creek and Scout Loop Huts walking tracks are particularly scenic. The park has a well-equipped picnic and camping area adjacent to the kiln. It's also a designated area for horse riding. Dogs are welcome on-leash. Entry is free, but camping fees apply.
