Kooyoora State Park is a landscape of striking granite tors and ridges rising above the surrounding plains. The park is rich in history, famously providing a hideout for the bushranger 'Captain Melville' in the 1850s. Visitors can explore Melville's Caves and other fascinating rock formations. The park also has significant Aboriginal heritage, with rock wells and other important sites. A network of walking tracks and scenic drives allows exploration of the box-ironbark forest and leads to lookouts with sweeping views. The park is popular for picnicking, camping, and rock climbing.
