Khappinghat National Park is located east of Taree. The main visitor point is Saltwater picnic area, situated where the creek meets the ocean. Activities include swimming, walking around the headland to the adjoining Nature Reserve, and whale watching from Saltwater Point (August–November). Parking & Fees: Entry to the park is free. Parking is available at the Saltwater picnic area. Note: Specific picnic tables and BBQs are unconfirmed at the general NPWS entry point, although picnicking is a primary activity.
