Kew Billabong
Kew, Melbourne, VIC
Studley Park Rd, Kew, VIC 3101
Kew Billabong is a beautiful and ecologically important wetland that was once a bend in the Yarra River before being cut off to form an oxbow lake. It is a key feature of the vast Yarra Bend Park. The billabong provides a tranquil sanctuary for a huge variety of waterbirds, making it a premier spot for birdwatching close to the city. A walking path follows the edge of the billabong, connecting to the broader Yarra Bend Park trail network and providing beautiful views of the water and surrounding bushland. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Entry is free.
