Highfield Historic Site, located in North-West Tasmania, stands as a testament to the region's early colonial history. Established in 1826 by the Van Diemen's Land Company, it marks the first European settlement in the area. The site encompasses a homestead, outbuildings, and meticulously maintained gardens, all set against the backdrop of Stanley and The Nut. Visitors can explore the homestead's architecture, stroll through the gardens, and gain insights into the lives of early settlers. The site also offers facilities for events, including a historic chapel and a rustic barn equipped with a commercial kitchen. Open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, the site charges an admission fee, with discounts available for groups and school visits.
