The Hamilton Botanic Gardens are a fine example of classic Victorian garden design. Established in 1870, the gardens are heritage-listed and renowned for their collection of mature conifers and oaks. Key features include the ornate Thomson Fountain, a restored rotunda, a historic curator's cottage, and a small animal enclosure with birds and mammals. The gardens provide a beautiful and peaceful setting for a walk or picnic. There is a playground for children and barbecue facilities are available. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
