Gunbower National Park protects a significant part of Gunbower Island, which is framed by Australia's two largest rivers. The park is a Ramsar-listed wetland of international importance, and its landscape is dominated by majestic River Red Gum forests that rely on the natural flooding cycles of the river. It's a paradise for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, with numerous lagoons and waterways to explore. The park also offers excellent bush camping, birdwatching, and scenic drives. A network of walking tracks allows visitors to experience the beauty of the forest on foot. Dogs are not permitted in the national park. Entry is free, but camping fees apply.
