Evercreech Forest Reserve, Evercreech TAS 7216

Evercreech Regional Reserve, located near St Helens in Tasmania, is renowned for its towering white gum trees, Eucalyptus viminalis, which are the tallest of their species in Australia, reaching heights over 90 meters. The reserve offers a short and easy 'White Knights' walk, a 20-30 minute loop that takes visitors through the magnificent forest, providing views of these giant trees and the surrounding landscape. For those seeking a longer experience, the reserve also features a track leading to Evercreech Falls near the headwaters of the South Esk River. Visitors can enjoy excellent picnic facilities, including a large undercover shelter, tables, and barbecues. Access to the reserve is via unsealed roads; from Fingal, take the B43, or from Ringarooma, take the C423 road, following signs to Evercreech Forest Reserve. It's advisable to avoid driving in the reserve at night due to native wildlife on the roads. Please note that the White Knights walking track is currently closed until further notice due to tree falls and track damage.
