The Darebin Parklands is a remarkable example of environmental restoration. What was once a wasteland has been transformed over decades by community effort into a thriving 33-hectare bushland sanctuary. The park follows the Darebin Creek and features a diverse landscape of wetlands, open woodlands, and native grasslands. A network of trails provides ample opportunity for walking and exploring. It includes a spiritual healing trail, an adventure playground, and picnic and barbecue facilities. The park is a haven for native wildlife in the inner city. It has large designated off-leash areas, making it extremely popular with dog owners. Entry is free.
