The Georgian Rd, Olinda, VIC 3788
Formerly the National Rhododendron Gardens, the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden is a spectacular 40-hectare garden renowned for its vast collections of cool-climate plants. The garden is a riot of colour in spring and autumn, with thousands of flowers in bloom. A network of walking tracks, both sealed and unsealed, winds through towering Mountain Ash trees and past serene lakes and rockeries. The views from the Chelsea Australian Garden and the various lookouts are stunning. The garden has picnic areas and a cafe. Due to the sensitive plant collections, dogs are not permitted. While entry is free, donations are encouraged. Gates open and close at set times.
