Coolart Historic Area offers a fascinating blend of history and nature. Visitors can explore the grand late-Victorian mansion and its surrounding formal gardens. The estate extends into woodlands and a vital wetland ecosystem. A highlight is the Minsmere bird hide, which provides excellent opportunities to observe the diverse birdlife on the lagoon without disturbance. A network of walking tracks links the homestead, gardens, wetlands, and the nearby beach. It is a popular spot for picnics on the expansive lawns. To protect the abundant wildlife, dogs are not permitted. Entry to the grounds is free, but access to the homestead may be limited to certain times. Park gates open and close at set times.
