Established in 1868, the Colac Botanic Gardens occupy a prime location on the banks of Lake Colac. The gardens are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register for their historic and scientific importance. They are home to an impressive collection of established trees from around the world, creating a magnificent canopy and a peaceful environment. The gardens feature sweeping lawns, garden beds, a rose arbour, and a playground. They provide direct access to the Lake Colac foreshore walking path. The gardens are a perfect spot for a picnic, with barbecue facilities available. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Entry is free.
