Cape Schanck, Mornington Peninsula, VIC
420 Cape Schanck Rd, Cape Schanck, VIC 3939
The Cape Schanck Lighthouse Reserve is a highlight of the Mornington Peninsula National Park, located at the southernmost tip of the peninsula. The historic 1859 lighthouse, built from limestone, is the main attraction and offers guided tours. A spectacular series of boardwalks and lookouts descends the cliff face, providing breathtaking views of the wild coastline, Pulpit Rock, and the basalt cliffs formed by ancient lava flows. The reserve is a starting point for several coastal walks. There is a kiosk, museum, and picnic area on site. While entry to the reserve and use of the boardwalks is free, fees apply for parking and for the lighthouse tour. Dogs are not permitted.
