Cape Nelson State Park

Cape Nelson State Park is situated on a rugged peninsula of 200-metre high basalt cliffs. The park's centerpiece is the impressive Cape Nelson Lighthouse, which has been in operation since 1884. A network of walking tracks, including a section of the Great South West Walk, allows visitors to explore the dramatic cliff tops, coastal heathland, and sheltered woodlands. The park is an excellent spot for whale watching during the winter months and for observing a variety of seabirds, including a gannet colony. Facilities include a cafe near the lighthouse, picnic tables, and toilets. Dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
