Buninyong Botanic Gardens
Buninyong, Ballarat, VIC
402-404 Scott St, Buninyong, VIC 3357
The Buninyong Botanic Gardens are a delightful example of a regional Victorian garden, first planted during the gold rush era. The gardens are split into two sections by the Midland Highway. The upper section is a more traditional garden with established trees, lawns, and flowerbeds. The lower section features 'The Gong', a picturesque lake that was originally a water reserve for gold miners. The gardens are a peaceful place for a stroll or a picnic and include a historic swimming pool, a playground, and several statues. Dogs are permitted on-leash. Entry is free.
