Brisbane Ranges National Park

Located between Geelong and Ballarat, the Brisbane Ranges National Park protects a diverse range of native flora and fauna. The park's geology is notable, containing evidence of a 400-million-year-old river system. It's a fantastic destination for bushwalking, with trails ranging from short, easy walks to challenging overnight hikes. The park is especially beautiful in spring when the wildflowers are in full bloom, attracting many visitors. Key visitor areas like Anakie Gorge and Steiglitz Historic Park have picnic facilities, including tables and wood-fired barbecues (check fire restrictions). Camping is also available at several sites. As a national park, dogs are not permitted. Entry is free.
